I bought a PlayStation Classic was it worth it?

A few months back I was able to purchase a PS Classic on Prime day a few months back, before my purchase I read reviews of how it was cashing in on nostalgia but not really much else.

It's game list is limited and you can't add to it (well not in a legal way). So after buying it I took it out of the box and was excited to see the classic PS1 console but a quarter of the size of the original like it game with a McDonalds happy meal.

The controller unlike the picture used had no analog and was not dual shock which completely ruins metal gear solid. But if you can get passed that this device is brilliant if you don't want to have a PS1 emulator on your PC.

For me the first thing I did with it was get Bleemsync on it and transfer the games I already had on my PC to my PS Classic. Adding to the likes of Tekken 3, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and Cool Borders.

So I added to those games putting the games that should have been on the PlayStation classic, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Crash Team Racing, Tekken 1 & 2 and then some of my favourite games as a kid.

I was able to buy this console for just over £15 but then after modding it I spent a further £15 on two PlayStation usb controllers which analogue sticks. If you do plan on doing this like me you will have to take the controller apart to take out the DualShock capabilities otherwise the controller will constantly vibrate whilst you play which I do not recommend.

My advice is to either stick to the emulators or like me wait until you can get it for half its retail price which is still around £40. You would have to put a mod software on the device which is relatively easy and there are plenty of instructions on how to do so.

Personally I can't wait to get my hand on the Sega Mega Drive Mini but that's going to be a while.
