Garage Classical Review "If you buy one album this year make it this one"

We can all agree that there are certain tracks and genres that have the power to transport you back to a time and place long since forgotten by the mainstream. Tracks like Sweet Like Chocolate, Flowers and Gotta Get Through This are tracks very familiar to anyone in their 30's or 40's and anyone who listens to Heart on a regular basis.

So when Garage Dj & former Radio 1 presenter DJ Spoony anounced he was going to perform garage classics with a full orchestra I was very skeptical and the names on the album don't exactly scream Garage. Names like Paloma Faith, Lilly Allen and the original line up of the Sugababes however there are familiar names on the album like Nay Nay, Gabrielle and So Solid Crew.

This album is reinvention of a genre that had really been consigned to the dustbin of cheesy spotify playlists. The album is is the end result of the sold-out events at The Barbican and Eventim Apollo in 2018. You can listen to the album below.

There is the last of current booked live gigs at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 24th October with tickets costing around £50 according to one ticket website. Link here https://bit.ly/31C4XTo

But for the Garage music fan in your life this is a great Christmas present.
